Our 2017 ‘Ta-Da!’ List

I read recently about the concept of a Ta-Da list, where instead of making a To-Do list you write down the things that you have achieved instead. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the future things to do that we forget to reflect on all we have accomplished this year. So, here it is!
We started off the year with a month long trip to Canada.

Then we got the keys to the property in mid-March.

We installed new front steps.

Got a new electrical board installed.
We cleaned and painted (most of) the inside of the house.

Installed a fireplace.

We built a new pool fence.

We chopped down the Leopard tree.

We adopted sweet Benny boy.

We cleared the front yard.

We chopped down the big Candle Nut.

We installed a new water tank.

It is hard to believe that we have only been at our place properly for 9 months now and we have achieved so much while still working full time. I am very proud of us but now it is time to slow down. Some of our plans for 2018 are:

  • Getting an excavator in to dig up stumps and level our front yard in January
  • Starting some vege and herb gardens
  • Start planting trees!
  • Paint or do something to the outside of our house, not sure what yet
  • Pay off some debt
  • Attend Permaculture Design Course in January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am excited to have a bit of a slower pace as we have spent most of the past year frantically trying to get things done in time for this or that. I am happy with where we are at right now and things that we have planned are more want to dos rather than have to dos. I think we also need a bit of aesthetic love outside, as we have been chopping A LOT of stuff down and not replacing it!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Kat
